UNIVERSITY LIFE - cheap and sweet! (AK)

University is an awesome place for many people.
It's a place to really explore the notions of personal interests and furthermore develop skills to practically sought out those interests.
It's a place where we meet new friends some that may become life-long friends, some work friends and even a special one that may become your spouse.

It's the beginning of youth- your dreams...
They make university sound so profound and meaningful, as if it's the only place to really become inspired and succeed in life. Some agree, some not. I won't say anything.

Reality, however, ain't so sweet and lovely as they all seem to be.. Your first year you realise what lies ahead.

You fear that fail as you are bombarded with loads of work you thought would never happen.
That inspired trip to the library becomes a marathon of desperate sighs...
All your friends go through the same thing and the occasional one guy who has it easy...

The cycle of uni life comes into play

HOWEVER, your moods and attitudes can change through a simple habitual task- EATING!!

Studies do show that eating can really change your mood (http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/wellness_articles.asp?id=1562)

Hence, today i am going to share what i usually eat at uni because these type of food really helped me get through that extra hour or two of study and achieve that satisfying result.

FOOD, FOOD... AND MORE FOOD AT MACQUARIE!

You see, my uni (Macquarie University) has an awesome food-court, what's so awesome about it is, is that the food is delicious and most importantly CHEAP. Yer cheap as in $4 for a meal.

$4 burger meal:

This stuff is the real deal. We're having this awesome deal at uni for limited time $4 for burger and small chips. We all know that as uni students we are poor.. like we can't afford stuff

Pad thai:

My favourite dish at uni...
Large pad thai!

Some boost... to boost that fried brain

Watermelon crush

Indeed uni life kills sometimes. The cycle may continue no matter what. But small things like food really does help.

All this food really helped me in my uni life.. what do you eat at uni to help you in your studies?
Whether is be from home or bought, you know yourself that food has become something very significant for the well-being of your life- specifically your UNI LIFE =D

JP - Japanese for Dinner :D

2012/04/20
Home.

So .. My sister decided to fill the fridge with these goodies that can be made instant ! Much more worth it that paying 8$ for half a dozen, that may not even taste as good at a Japanese Restaurant !

Takoyaki.

Here I have takoyaki with plain crab sushi on the side that I will not zoom in on because I made them ugly LOL

AK - lazy friday

It's a wonderful friday, the weather is awesome and it's those type of days where you just want to stay home and relax... be a bit.. lazy.

WHAT DO I EAT?

When you are lazy... what type of food do you crave for?
You can't be bothered to cook and you can't be bothered to go outside...
What do we do..?

Personally I started to searching for some instant food lying around the house- be cautious of the expiry date, don't wanna rush to the hospital when the whole point of this was to stay home.

Soon enough I found the simplest yet a gourmet (in my simplistic opinion) 'dish'- Chajangmyun. It's similar to the stuff you eat at korean/chinese restaurants (the black bean paste noodles) but only made quicker ;)

It's done in 4 easy steps:
1) put the noodles in boiling water
2) drain water
3) shove in the powder and mix like you mean it.
4) eat like you mean it.

trust me, it tastes amazing.

SOMETHING TO DRINK...?

After i finished my lovely chajangmyun, i felt like some coffee... But... no way i'm going to drive out to buy a cup of coffee.
What do we do?
Just make yo own~ doesn't matter if it tastes bad, just retry and make it better ;)
Luckily, i have this coffee making machine thingo, it's crap but still if you manage, you can create a really nice cup of coffee!

Once I start drinking coffee I feel active again...
nah not really.

JP - Melbourne (DAY 2)

Chilli morning with a perfect fluorescent lighting.

2012/04/10
CBD Melbourne, VIC.

We were taken to the famous strand of cafes, cafes and more cafes in the CBD !
It was amazing for me, a coffee addict and not to mention barista, with so many diverse grinds and tastes Sydney cannot provide.

Here's an ORGANIC latte ! Made from organic beans, and 100% organic Barista Milk:

Then we saw this mini store full of traditional and most original soups, served hot ! Eat in or take away (:

After the walking, stopping, and sipping of coffee we took a rest at a random restaurant which had amazing appetizers and freshly made juices:

Just for sweets, here's a cute cake and patisserie I saw which attracted a lot of attention with its colourful selection !
